BBDB Version: 2.35 as packaged by Debian Emacs/XEmacs Version: GNU Emacs 21.3 Mail/News reader (Gnus, VM, etc) used: 7.17 Bug Description:
While paging through email messages in VM, `bbdb-update-records' raises an error on emails from a particular sender, which prevents VM from displaying emails from that person. The cause seems to be that somehow the sender gets a "From" header like "From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]<>" through the MTAs, which eventually gets parsed for BBDB as `(nil nil)'. Perhaps two changes be good: (1) parse that pathological address format; and (2) make bbdb-update-records cope with getting passed `(nil nil)' parsed addresses. An edited traceback is shown below, with bytecode elided, and the actual email address and subject replaced with dummy values.
