What? BBEdit's syntax recognition for Perl 5.8 is far from correct. In
particular, BBEdit is wrong about parentheses, brackets, braces,
single quotation marks, and double quotation marks when they are
escaped, located inside literals, or located inside regular
expressions. An example is:

I have not found a menu item to append text to the scratchpad,
without opening the scratchpad.
The Services menu has an item

Have I missed the BBEdit menu item?

Preferences Text Search click on 'Modal Find dialog
Now it works the old way.

Now that the search dialog is no longer modal, you can just use the
commands (and keyboard shortcuts) that appear under the the Search menu.

Several versions ago I customized my editor title bar to only include
the things I used. I am now reading about ScratchPad and would like to
explore using it, but I believe it is accessed through that top bar.
Where do I enable/disable items in that top editor window bar.

I have used BBEdit since version 2 and have always opened documents
via FTP, edited them, and then saved them to a local directory for a
backup. I have never set up a project and I suspect there are cooler
ways to manage my sites than how I am doing so. Is there a tutorial or
