Yes, I think the possums were taken over for a fur industry. In urban Oz
they are also a problem, particularly with fruit, which they eat and with
sex, which they like to have on your roof when you are trying to sleep.
In the area I live, possums are as good as extinct, only a very few small

Hi Gil,
If you mean those Aussie possums that climb up power poles and short
them out then yes, you can have 'em back. NZ is trying to cope with
the possums (they brought in to NZ from Oz and have become a pest
there) through all sorts of stratagems to get their numbers down such

Hi! Tom,
We have major carp problems in our larger rivers, of which we have very
few. They have put many native fish under stress, forcing some to

I recall being sprayed with hand held sprayers as a kid going to
Europe (or returning - can't recall which) on the old prop planes

darting in and out of the fogger clouds. I didn't think at that time
I have noticed that mosquitos does not fly
inside of the airplane when the airplane is in the air.
I was observing several mosquitos inside a plane
down here in Brazil and wondering what would be
their actuall speed if they could fly inside a flying
airplane and to my surprise all of them stayed
Hugh (or anyone else) - what became of the couple who were taking capsules
of DDT daily, to prove that it was harmless to humans ? So far as I could
tell, they were eccentric, otherwise ordinary citizens, not conspicuously
sponsored by any chemical company. Can't remember any details, other tha
