This good information from agro-forester supreme, Mark Shepard, who
once worked extensively with simple vegetable growers:
I've brokered produce for nearly a hundred certified organic growers since
1995 and every single one of them who has ever used the Albrecht system have
outproduced anyone who has not.
As far as east-coast applicability is concerned,... In ammending some
New England, granite-derived soil according to Albrecht's numbers the
results have been astonishing to the point where the results seemed like
divine intervention. (one of the plots was on a property that has received
the preps since the early 70's)
Nay-saying the method by those who haven't tried it (or who haven't
followed the recommendations completely, perhaps because they thought they
couldn't afford all the rocks) is empty air.
Spend the bucks. Buy the rocks. (they last a LONG time) The effects will
amaze you and feed you well for years. (I'll have to relate my asparagus
"trial" to you some day)
