Hi Laura,
The reason those store bought soft treats are soft is because they have
sugar and a host of gooey type preservatives. I buy beef heart (butcher
trims and cuts into chunks) and simmer slowly on the stove with garlic, let
it cool and trim into thin strips, blot with paper towel and spread o
I use London Broil, cooked, sliced thin.

We like to take liver, chill till it is firm as it slices much easier, cut
into slices about 1/4 inch thick.
Place on cookie sheet, sprinkle lightly with garlic powder,, not garlic
salt. and dry in oven at 200 to 250 till firm, not hard. Then cut it into
1/4 to 1/2 inch cubes.

The very best and easiest treat I've used is string cheese. Its a miracle dog
training substance! It sticks to things (like go-out posts,) it can be shoved
into a binder clip (for heads up heeling,) its not gross to dangle from your
mouth (for fronts,) its also not gross when spitting a reward
not a recipe but there are great soft treats from www.sitstay.com

I use BilJac a lot. That's the frozen dog food. I just defrost, and form

size for training that day and give the dog small bits of it as a reward.
There are some crumbs but not a lot and the food is soft so goes down
quickl

Hi Laura,
If you have a food dehydrater you could make any variety of jerky treats for
your puppy and cut them bite size.
Or you could cook liver and cut it up into bite size pieces too.
