Thanks to all the folks with their advice on what to do about my berner
boy being afraid to go into his crate. After missing 3 meals, eating
rather rapidly in the crate and then missing 2 meals he has not missed
a meal since. He has also started to relax more while he's in there
eating - no long gulping as fast as he can and his tail is no longer
plastered along his underbelly but now hangs normally. I am not
closing the door at this point - that will come later down the road
once the crate has become more of a friend. I do place treats in there
randomly so that "checking out the crate" has some yummy rewards. I'm
glad we were able to break through on this issue though there is more
work to be done!
