My three Berners are like Ugo's -- they jump into the Booster Bath with no
problems. All are taught to put themselves in the bath or on the grooming
table as soon as they are old enough to do it without risk of injury. When
we go out to the garage for reasons other than bathing or grooming, I

Ummm...Nance...I can GUARANTEE you your neighbors think you're weird (and not
just becuase you play 'ear pinch' with your dog).

Hi Gayle,
Too bad we don't live closer, I have had a few dogs pull a fast one about
being bathed. I have hot water plumped to the great outdoors, no cold well
water for my dogs. I have had bucking broncos who back off and wrestle to
get away acting like the world is falling. I just hang on, don't
Hi guys!
I have the perfect solution. I put Penny the wonderpup (almost 6 months)
and my 13 year old daughter in the bathroom! Everybody gets a bath!!
Connie, Maggie (the bather) and Penny the wonderpup
. Keep
them distracted, I say!! Boy do they hate the bathing part but LOVE the
drying off part. They practically skid around the tile as we towel them off!

I am behind on my email thanks to a Nor'easter power surge that killed my

what I think is the ultimate Christmas gift from one of my daughters.

I envy you people that can bathe your berners as I have not
been able to accomplish this task. The first time I tried, Indy was about 3
months old. As I had never had problems with my other dogs, I never gave a

cowered, than
Lol, I really enjoyed myself with this story, it reminds me of me living in
the netherlands, having a berner, and it rains just about all the time, so
every time you go out, your dog smells horrible and he really needs a bath.
I gave Boris a bath like every other week, cause with that muddy

summer when the hair can fly free outside) and that helps keep down the
amount of loose hair flying around at least a bit. Ya just know you are going
to end up at least as wet as the dogs, so old clothing is key to bathing
them. If he is too uncooperative, try to find a way to tether
I have a few hints for bathing your Berners in your bathtub.
First, Get yourself a rubber mat so your Berner feels secure in the tub.
There's nothing worse than a sliding Berner who is then leary of the whole
process. Winston loves to get a bath and jumps right into the bathtub

And a helper is nice. I would stay in the tub doing the dogs assembly line
style, then Paul would towel them dry. They loved his towelling techniques,
the butt-rub, the
