I'm using the latest rev of SlimServer 6.5, but I'm still using
SoftSqueeze 2.8. Should this work OK, or should I only be using the
lastest 3.whatever of SoftSqueeze?
All of a sudden I'm getting a lot of chopped up audio fits and starts

I have "Group compilation albums together" selected - if that what you mean by
variousArtistAutoIdentification=off.

Well, the fix is going to be for multiple problems and bugs.
BTW, Where is the pref setting to make "variousArtistAutoIdentification" off?
Settings -> Behavior -> Group Various Artists

I'm sure this one's been around before but I'm seeing it again on 6.5
but only ony my SB2's not the SB1's
Streaming flacs, when I press pause the quick fade is performed but
there is a slight glitch at full volume just as the player pauses. It
all happens a bit quick and I'm sure this has occured

that my bug 3854 is taken out of "works for me" state.

I am getting this too; mostly on iTunes labelled 'Compilation' CDs. Some are
spilt into a seperate Album for each track; some have a random selection
(say 1 - 3) of non-contiguous tracks on 3 - 6 eponymously named albums.
Not pretty and somewhat annoying. There seems to be no discernable logic a
Dan fixed my problem, but I then got no Various Artists albums lisited
at all. At present VA is undergoing some major changes, so it's a bit
of a moving feast.

Just done a quick test.
I have an "album" of old 70s funk singles. It's not really an album but
I have it stored as such in iTunes by having the album name for all the
tracks set to"70s Funk". There are 94 songs in it.
This morning, in slimserver, the album was listed 6 times with most of

To my dismay, bug 3854 has been closed as "works for me". I raised that bug
because I posted several messages here about problems with various artists
functionality, and got no response, so I thought I'd better file a bug so it
isn't lost.
I still have an unuseable list of various artist album
