I agree it's a bug, but I think the code as written is what the developer intended. If you look at the next few lines, the script creates a log directory in the user's home directory if there is no root-level Application Support folder. I've a patch which will confirm the folder is writable

I have basically been doing this all along. After each remove/purge via apt-get, I go through and make sure I have *no* directories/users/files called squeezecenter before I try installing again. Or perhaps I am misunderstanding your post? Tom -- TomS
