Not sure if it's related to my preferences-trashing problem, but when I
spt-get upgrade I am getting the following error message:

Ah, thanks - that's done it. I did a Xilinx rewrite first, which may
have helped the knob response (tee hee) but didn't cure the not p
I experienced similar problems with the 2-2-08 release. Thinking it was
close to production, I gave it a try. Mistake. Softsqueeze (3.6 and

internet), and synchronizations are a mess across more than two
clients, even including SBs
I'm running yesteday's and today's nightlies on a fully "Microsoft

installed for a while and just checked the MS Update for anything
new/additional to install but there was nothing.

I am running SC7 on XP SP2 and since I updated .Net recently via Windows
Update SC7 refuses to start and I get the following error
.NETÁSystem.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingException: Tcp channel
protocol violation: expecting preamble. at
System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Tcp.TcpSocketHandler.
Now that you mention it I did also install Silverlight, that could be
the problem - I'll uninstall it and see what happens.
Thanks, David.

I uninstalled Silverlight with no effect.
The problem seems to be related to .Net Framework 2.0 Sp 1 and .Net
Framework 3.0 SP 2 which were installed via Windows Update a few days
ago.
I get the above .Net message when I try to Start SqueezeCenter manualy
- the message appears in the browser wi
Hmmm...
I've had both of those installed here for quite a while now. I don't
remember having to do anything special. Not sure where to go from here
since it appears to be working fine here.
Have you tried running it as a service?
Uninstalling .NET 2 and/or 3? And Reinstalling?

Hi,
Some time ago I filed a bug where new playlists were not being picked
up in a playlist scan.
It turns out that the problem stemmed from the scan not completing
properly because it was crashing somewhere while doing a covert art
scan.
So the question is what covert art is scanned during a pl
Me too.

No, haven't tried those ideas yet. Will do so in that order and let you
know. Thanks for the suggestions.

I think I've answered my own question -- SC7 is aborting scans after
hitting files with cover art it doesn't like so every time a new scan
is initiated, it keeps failing on the same files during the cover art
scan.
Replacing the artwork is a workaround for now.

It's probably worth adding that this is not so much a SC7 problem as a
problem with the debian package (as I understand it, changes were
recently made to make file locations more standardized, but there are
some lingering problems as a result).

I've been updating frequently (every dew days) since I bought my SB3 and
installed SC7 on my debian box. SC7 has worked fine for me. Today I
updated to version 17126 and when browsing to SC I now get the startup
wizard? Surely this is a bad bug? I guess I have lost all my settings
and favorites?

If you're on Windows you should update to the very latest build. We've adde

There's no reason why SC would prevent the screensaver. Do you have SC open in
a browser when this happens?

No, no windows open on my PC at the time. Needless to say, it's an
intermittent thing, as for example last night the screensaver kicked in
fine. In all likelihood it's just another Windows weirdness.
I'll just remember to switch the monitor off!
