Is this related to this bug?
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5686
It's very likely bad tagging. Our guessing fails if the tags have some
minor fault in the format str

You should both register on the bugzilla site and add your comments to
the bug and ask that it be reopened. This bug keeps biting more and
more new customers in the butt, but it gets blown off with little more
than a "it was discussed and decided that this is how it will be". If

I'm using SC7 on a Linux platform and having trouble with foreign
characters, both in filenames and in ID3 tags.
It will not read and index MP3 ID3 tags if there are accented
characters in them, nor will it display them if I browse from Music
Folder.
It will try to populate that information (art
Its slightly ironic that I came across this post at the very top of the
forum the very first time that I come here.
I have been battling a tag problem with SC7 that was originally caused
by APEv2 tags. I have a folder with 500 mp3s in it, and cannot get SC7
to put THREE .mp3s in the correct albu
I vote for re-opening this bug and giving the user an option which kind
of tag they want scanner to read (ID3 v1, v2 or APE) for their mp3 (!!)
files. I totally agree with Jim's comment #5: Most mp3 tag editors out
there do not even support reading or modifying APE tags. It took me
quite some time
You're right.
Failure to think it through on my part.
I seldom use the option and don't use too many non-debian sources. I
only use it if I'm updating multiple boxes and I've completed the
upgrade of the first box first box.
Thanks,

That's odd enough. All these different parts of the line have some link.
Could you please tell me which parts of the string are one link, and wha
My recollection is that the "forget this player" feature was originally
for getting rid of steam.mp3 clients, not real SBs or the like. Andy
says that he fixed the stream.mp3 problem some time ago, so this became
a feature with no particular use. You can see more of a discussion of
this here: ht

I've tried this again with the antivirus stuff completely removed
(rather than just disabled)
Same problem.
Sigh...

Updated to last night's SC7 built and found a couple problems with the
Favorites when I'm connected directlty the HW Beta (DC) Server.
1.) The favorites that were imported from the production server did not
show in the SB3. I could see them in the server. I had to re-enter
them.
2.) The first fa

I have opened a bug on this (6995) at the suggestion of Diranged.
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6995
The latest nightly did not work as well.
At one point I was able roll back to 16880 but not since the 2nd of
Feb.
Could we take a poll of what Debian distros this affects?
I'm on
Ok, I'll do that later today.
Is there an alternative method to get hold of the title names? I
have the artist_id and album_id but no track_ids and no playlist
with a name. Just a number telling me how many tracks there are
in the currently loaded album.

We removed the "forget player" feature a few days ago. It never did more than
temporarily remove a player from the list.

If you 'forget' a disconnected player using the web GU, it's removed
from the available list but when re-connected it re-appears complete
with previous settings and name. Therefore SC7, like an elephant,
never truly forgets.
Is this a bug or a feature?

I have it in my /var/cache/apt/archives directory - the earliest one I
can see on the Slim Devices site is here:-

OK, I have had to go back to squeezecenter_7.0-16880_all.deb to get it
working - everything after that seems not to work ie
squeezecenter_7.0-17259_all.deb and onwards.

Patrick Dixon's
Not meaning to harp on about this, but today I upgraded to the latest
nightly squeezecenter-7.0-0.2.17259.noarch which exhibits exactly the
same problem making SC7 useless for me.
