Every time i uppgrade my rpm build I have to:
chmod -R 777 /usr/share/squeezecenter
Other wise my server log shows this and sc dies in the background:
[09-03-15 10:52:30.2295] main::init (270) Starting SqueezeCenter (v7.4,
r25534, Sun Mar 15 01:04:22 PDT 2009)
[09-03-15 10:52:52.9331] Slim::boo
More info, before you become totally puzzled by my log:
I have updated perl according to this
http://www.ulverston.myzen.co.uk/mini-itx/pages/perl.htm instruction.
I've found that no SC above 7.2 will run on perl 5.8.5 so I had to
upgrade to 5.8.8
Hence all the "myperl" references in the output
During server startup I get the errors below in the server.log. If I
re-install the SC 7.4 build of 03/12/09 I don't get these errors.
[10:10:47.3166] Slim::Utils::Strings::string (376) Error: missing
string SETUP_CURRENT
[10:10:47.3185] Slim::Utils::Strings::string (376) Backtrace:

This only occurs with Custom Scan enabled. I will pass it on to Erland.

Is only SqueezeTray crashing or SC too? Can you start squeezecenter.exe?
Please also note that I've been doing more work on SqueezeTray over the
weekend. Who knows, maybe it's now working again? I'll be b

Tomorrow's nightly build of 7.3.3 will have a change to the log rotation
for the following platforms: Debian, Readynas, Fedora, and RedHat.
As I only have a debian platform, this is the only one that I have
tested. The patch uses the same principles for all platforms but it
could benefit from ve

Could you enable debug logging of "plugin.customscan" and then navigate
into a new music folder and post the log ?
In my own setup Custom Scan doesn't do anything at all when a new music
folder is brow
