sound good, as I'd like to keep the main-menu as clean as possible) ?

Seeing as Erland and others are now creating applets so people may use
Applet installer, I think it could be improved. It has a number of UI
bugs - such as showing plugins as already installed after an upgrade.

If you sit and think about this for a really, REALLY long time (as I
have!) you will eventually realise that Snarlydwarf is correct in that
the folder structure is actually providing additional meta-data.
To me the idea of dumping everything in one big folder just makes no
sense on any level -
I always had Random Track, Random Album and a favourite playlist
assigned to Fav buttons and I couldn't find a way to do this with
presets so I hacked the prefs file and it seems to work ok.
Thinking about it though, maybe you can assign a favourite to a
preset?
