I am getting this on all my players except my PB1 beta Radio. Is there a
quicker workaround besides contacting support?

This is happening to me also.
Followed the magic footsteps:
Cleandb reboot
remove old squeezeserver (7.3.4 ) reboot
cleandb reboot
install new squeezeboxserver reboot
cleandb reboot
the NV+ is starting 2 instances of the squeezeboxserver at startup.

Today, I installed the final build of Squeezebox Server 7.4 on my
ReadyNAS NV+
I'm also facing the "Squeezebox Server dies" issue even after having
done multiple reinstallations. I also did the full firmware
reinstallation as the previous user described: unfortunately without the
desired result. A

A full firmware reinstall (per reset and power button) on the readynas
did
the trick.
But what is annoying to me: I used to have a standard configuration on
the readynas (never did any manual install nor installed any 3rd-party
addon). So there seems to be something wrong in the

I did it and install went quite smooth. Currently its rescanning the
library.
Uninstall took a while. I finally killed the Squeezecenter.exe process,
after that it continued faster.

OK - thanks for your replies.
I think I'll wait until QNAP supports 7.4. I've had situations before
where my Receiver/Controller have nearly 'bricked' so I won't take a
chance.
I just hope that QNAP produce a new version of SSOTS soon :-(

I used a 7.4 Controller several times with a 7.3.3 Server and faced no
problems (playing music and listening to radio)
For my NAS there isn't a 7.4 Server available as well.

As a QNAP user I can't at present use Squeezebox Server 7.4 but I am
forced to upgrade firmware if connecting to SN (now at
mysqueezebox.com). If I leave things as they are, I constantly
upgrade/downgrade firmware when switching between SC and SN. Is it
possible to use the new 7.4 firmware version

1. After moving to SC 7.4.1 and using prod MySB the first time I find
that my player information there is erroneous.
My "real" players are OK, as far as I can see, but there are a few
others, that look like a meshup of my existing players.:
- There's one player which has a (previous) name of my SB

you should uninstall it first, but don't tell it to remove your settings!
