File a bug. I don't think IE gets any testing during web skin
development.

Yes, I think it is. It was the first thing I disabled. I've tried restarting
several times since (after deleting db files from cache).

That's sooo rubbish, especially if automatic rescan pref is disabled. It can
cause mutlitple scanner instances to each try to exclusively lock the DB.

What issues do you think Boom is "plagued" by ?
The only issue I found us that snoozebutton and preset button have got
mixed up but they work OK with remote control so it is minor
inconvenience. I wouldn't refer to it "plagued" and it only affects
Boom as SB3 doesn't have buttons.
7.6 is a beta

I just deleted everything in the cache.

I have already turned off automatic change detection, deleted databases from
cache folder and restarted, but had the same problem.

The workaround is pretty easy.
- Open the web interface, go to Settings > Advanced > Performance >
Automatically detect changes and disable it.
- Shut down the server.
- Delete everything in the cache directory.

Definitely doesn't do this for me - something must be different about
our environments or installs...
The ONLY way I can provoke a lock error is to play a track whilst doing
a full rescan. Weird.

Not true. I'm not doing *anything* with my SBS; it's the initial scan at
startup that is complaining about a lock. i.e. my library is empty - I can't
I just got the squeezebox2 firmware 134 offered by my SBS. Would it be
safe to install or is it plagued by the same issues the Boom update
has?

doesn't do that for me - the paused playlist is cleared before the scan

Having some music paused, and scheduling a full rescan overnight
results in the same conflicting behaviour.

Hi Michael,
I did some more testing this weekend. Your artwork scan turned up 104
covers (of which 82 are unique and 77 correct):
29 were duplicates ("o brother where are thou" accounts for 15, the
rest were about two or three each)
7 had a similar cover (not the one my cd has - but otherwise ok

My full rescans are scheduled daily. I'm always perfecting tags/cover

Remeber I *can* scan it does not lock forever for me, there is just no

So it does scan and adds music (for me).

So i'm adding while i'm not listening, unfor
I think it's strange that so few people have problems with this bug.
