Today my Touch mentioned new software available, v. 7.6.0.R9300, but
fails to install and tells me to try again.
Using 'back' I can browse my folders, but none of thee files plays,
rendering the SBTouch useless for now.
Should I just wait, or should I downgrade?

I qualified and pushed out r9301 7.6 radio firmware a few minutes ago.

scanner crashes with following error in scanner.log when initiating a
full scan:

I had the same error back in December on my DNS-323. It remained this

Hmm the scanner sets the Prefs to readonly so this shouldn't happen. I'll
check in a fix just in case.

The full scanner seems to be trying to access a file called
squeezebox-scanner.db... no such file has ever existed in the cache
folder...

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
ain't what you'd call minimal...

That file is created by the scanner process. When done, the main process
overwrites its old database
r9300 was Feb 3rd, today was r9301.
Maybe the Touch has been sitting waiting for you to install r9300, and
in the meantime r9301 was released.
Try a reboot, push the little button on the back and see what it asks
for.

That may be, but there was no way to install whatever update...every
update crashed on 0% leaving the Touch useless for now..O well...that's
with betas...
The little button on the back didn't ask anything, but restored to
factory settings - which is what I wanted because I'll stay on the safe
