OK, I fixed the CPAN path issues, by creating the following symbolic
link:
ln -s /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/CPAN /usr/libexec/CPAN
My only issue now is that I am getting a modules.conf not found error:
modules.conf not found at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/Slim/bootstrap.pm
line 352.

Does anyone know if it is possible (and how) to run squeezeplay on boot
on a MAC?
I'm running a headless mac mini with LMS and using the optical out into
my dac.
LMS runs ok on boot but I also need a player to do likewise - i am
controlling the player via ipeng.

You can set apps to run automatically when a user logs in, but I'm not
sure about how to set them to run on boot without a user logging in. Is
your Mac set to log in a default user at startup? If so, that user's
login items will run automatically when you reboot.
