preferences between installations? It takes a good 10 minutes to go
through and apply all the required changes, plus a restart to install
the plug-in selections.

It's the Windows 2003 R2 DNS servic
Just to confirm the above, if I stop the DNS service I can start SC,
then start DNS again afterwards.

Applied some Windows updates this morning and SC no longer starts again
with the same problem. Ran netstat -ab to file and searched for 3483 -
looks like it is amongst very many UDP ports claimed by dns.exe. Can
the port claimed by SC be changed to avoid this?

Thanks for the info. In the meantime I've just downloaded 28124 (10th
August), uninstalled, rebooted and installed this version and it starts
up without problems - fingers crossed!

Services I see it starts the SqueezeMySQL service OK, but bombs out
after taking about 83K of memory. I've just downloaded a fresh copy
manually from the server and installed again
