they are after all a hardware company, they have countless variants of
mice keyboards and PC speakers.
iPod docks and whatnots, but the current Touch seems a little expensive
and ovespeced for the purpose.

i don't think a combo of for example a 6 months old Touch fw and the
latest 7.6.2 would be any good so I try to keep server and fw from the
same date.
fw is easy i let the players autoupdate then manually upgrade my
server.

In the updates folder in cache ?
If you place the fw there and also edit or replace the version file
innthe same folder and then restart sbs ?
