another 7.4 nightly build and then brwosing the music folder gave no
errors
Operating system: Linux - EN - utf8

This Problem is since change 24594.
I had this Problem also as i change Version 7.3.2 with this Patch.

browsing the music folder:
my structure is
Genre -> Interpret -> Album -> Files
if the Interpret is Die Ärzte and the next folders with special
Characters its look like pic01.jpg if you click on an folder with
special Characters its look like pic02

there are also some errors printed to console if you play an file with
special characters:
on start playing:

if it plays after search and you start searching again

I think the path is fixed only at the first time when it found an
special character.

What about the other folder which seems not to be broken. And why not run SC on
the machine which is serving the files anyway?!?

the pictures in post #11 are from the music library and not from
Browsing the music folder. I change the sourcecode with the patch but
make no Database rebuild.

I have copy the files to my linuxbox and change the path to it.
After this a Databaserebuild is started.
After this only one Album with Albumart is shown.
Now I walk to the folders and there are only files shown without
special characters.
After this i walk back to the music library and now there

character and also the dut controller shows an empty folder.
The SB3 show the full filenames (file:///volume1.flac) but when

Anybody who can confirm the "cannot open file" error?

I have the same problems with missing files if there are special
(national) characters when browsing via web interface "music folder"
including the "Problem: can't open file for..." when using the SB3.
The missing files seems to be correctly included in the music library
scanning.
My setup:

Same here bmf works down to a particular artist with special charachters
"Björk" but the folders within has garbled charachters in their name and
won't play.
They play fine via artist or album as they are correctly picked up by
the scan.

Any update does it exist a bug report yet ?
Some other tests, if I ssh to my server, the file names looks alright
and also if sftp to it.
And also if use one the offending files via artists (or any other
tagged search path) If I then go to "more info" about that file and
chooses to view location
