At least in the past, I think part of the problem was that SBS stores
the file URL UTF8 encod
My problem was messed up file names and path names (folder names)the
meta data in the files just worked when I fixed the names.
My bug was in short "why does sbs care what file name is if it can be
found by the os how can sbs miss it ?"
If a file has metadata the names are not that important.

It seems to me that 7.5 and up do not like the content of some meta data
fields. I have tried two versions of the same file, encoded at different
times but with the same version of iTunes (9.1). The file sizes are
identical but the meta data differs (slightly). One works (so far at
least) the oth
7.5.0 stable still has the problem with umlauts when scanning for such
files in existing playlists.
You can still create the playlist with files containing umlauts but as
soon as the list is saved sbs seems to not find them again and throws
them out of the playlist, after a rescan at the latest.
Sigur Ros is bust for me also.

I have some of the same observations.
1. The artwork count has dropped from 713 to 616 but all seem to be
there.. so more a observation than a complaint.
2. I have seen that my controller and webinterface isn't updated so
they show one cover from the playlist but the tune playing is another.
