i actually have already filed a bug on this very issue:

it doesn't shutdown with SS for me ever.
as of yet, SD has shown no love to this bug report.

Shutting down SlimServer does not shut down the built-in MySQL server
It will shut it down, unless you changed something.
It's not stopping here either. 6.5.1 straight out of the box.

I just switched my 6.5 installation back to using the included MySQL
server. Now I'm trying to connect to that server from another machine
on the network using SQLyog and MySQL Administrator, and I'm having no
luck. I noticed that the MySQL my.tt configuration file includes the
