It's been fixed. AIFF (big-endian) transcoding is needed for DLNA. SBs
can play either big or little endian, but the wrong value was being
sent for playback in this case.
Thanks, Andy!
I have opened something like 20 bugs through last couple of years, and

- What about the resampling of higher bitrate FLAC files to AIFF?
- What about the transcoding of other formats? If AIFF is necessary for
FLAC, shouldn't it also be necessary for other formats?
- Can PCM be given precedence over AIFF for streaming to Squeezebox
players? I never completely
Does this change also fix Ogg to AIFF transcoding? I believe it was also
broken, probably for the same reason.

This has actually never been supported for FLAC-PCM so I didn't think
it was necessary to worry about right now.

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
ain't what you'd call minimal...
I can see that Andy fixed a fundamental error 2 hours ago:
Fixed bug 16341, don't set wrong endian flag if streaming transcoded to

I am using 7.7.0 - r33594.
I was a bit disturbed when I updated to the newest nightly and heard
only pink noise upon FLAC playback. I then discovered the the AIFF

when disabling it, I am able to stream PCM fine with the

You didn't. It's there merely as a result of the new rule

Like all conversion rules, it's enabled by default.
aye..maybe it's Steve Job's tribute :)
I've never been an Apple user (nor iTunes), for me as long as they're
killable, it's all good for me.

Can someone take another look at this bug before 7.7.0 is released?

Andy added a conversion rule to stream FLAC as AIFF. From my testing it
doesn't work and results only in noise being played. Because AIFF
streaming takes precedence over PCM, my
