The installer, as I've noticed lately, seems to .. pause .. on the "Creating Directories" point. It pauses there for a decent amount of time, all the while the window does not refresh. Dragging other applications over it causes the window to get washed out, and the features in the form never redra

On my slightly aging computer, around 2 - 2.5 minutes. That's an Athlon XP 2600+ with 1.5 GB of memory running windows xp pro. That's installing on top of an already existing installation. I manually stop the squeezecenter service before starting the installation, so that's not the issue. No idea
