Sometimes it works on top of it, sometimes it doesn't... I'd try the
update. If it fails, remove the squeezebox folder _only_ (none of etc or
usr) and
Not wishing to be a troll here honest, but recently it does feel like
the last betas are the stable release and the release versions are
the betas! It seems everyone is too keen to move onto the next greatest
thing - be it 7.6.0 or 7.7 to finally release a truly stable, polished
product.

Yea nevertheless in the squeezebox world the .0 version of any release
have been the worse use .1 or .2 beta or not .
7.6.2 have been built to 334496 status now so not completely abandoned
will upgrade to that,
staying away from the 7.7 a bit more it is imho some kind of pre alpha
