Forgive my ignorance. I found my answer earlier in the thread, where Ralphy explained the need to install the Raspberry Pi binaries. I installed DSDPlayer armhf-linux on my Raspberry Pi 3B+ running PiCorePlayer. Now I get proper conversion option for DSDPlayer on players that do not support DSD.

So it seems that the quirks.c file has been updated a couple of times, the latest June of 2018. The first time they added several mytek devices, but then made it more generic. So... wonder when I'll see this in my Ubuntu? I'm at 16 LTS, maybe I should upgrade? Best, E
