Well Alan's advice corrected the flac issue here as well - latest
nightly build.
wma still doesnt work, but that could be something else.

Editing Song.pm as suggested by Alan in the bug reports seems to fix the
two cases I have tried flac 24/96 > Flac 24/48 and flac > mp3 .
whether this is the complete solution I cant say, it would be a lot off
work to test all possible transcoding cases i simply don't have enough
different file fo

FileHandle module looks ok - version difference compared to my system
because you have Perl 5.8.8. In Perl 5.8.8 FileHandle is in CPAN
whereas in 5.10 it is a core module - so there is still the faint
possibility of omission somehow.

Just as an FYI, reverting back to a (much)previous beta does fix the
issue.(what revision number it is, I'm not sure now. During one of my
cleanups before I realized the extent of this issue I deleted my saved

I tried bitrate limiting this usually invokes both flac and lame as I
have many flac files.
24/96 to 24/48 uses SOX and flac .
I think I will try with ALAC and AAC and some other filetype setting.
But first I should try with a debug log output and attach to the bug
report.

transcoding is not needed, this have been working fine for years ? why
