Last night my Maxtor OneTouch 500 music disk gave up the ghost. So it is most probable that all the problematic tag stuff I experienced was due to the disk beginning to fail. Only SlimServer scanning was affected originally because it is the only thing on the PC that uses the disk to any stressful

If there is no scanner process is it really scanning or has it just failed to register it completes? Seems to me that the first question should be whether there is enough memory - does task manager show free memory while scanning? Second question is then whether you can manually start a scan from
