I did a wholly new install of perl, mysql, DBD, etc. I'm wondering if
it's related to this bug:

What happens is that Slimserver creates the tables in the schema, but
can't seem to create any records when scanning the music library.

I've managed to get the latest Slimserver 6.5 from SVN working with
MySql 5.
To get it working, you need to do the following:
1) For all versions of 6.5, the following bug exists:
