Brucesee: I use Subsonic, an open-source stream server, for my remote streaming purposes. Extremely light weight and highly reliable. No add-in as of yet, so regular install is required by way of RDP. It runs beautifully on my 485. :) Transcoding is done and you can set bitrate limits pr user.

I also noticed that SC is running on Port 9000, but, so is the Twonky Media Server included w/the HP EX 875. Could this be causing a conflict, and, if so, what's the fix? Change the port for 1 (or both) of the services? Because I can't access advanced settings for SC, it's not possible for me

all versions: on uninstall/remove of previous version, files scanner.exe and socketwrapper.exe aren't removed. They also can't be removed (deleted) post uninstall. The WHS says they are protected and in use. As a result, subsequent installs of new version, don't work. As I reported before,
