I often get issues like that with scan for new/changed files. Even though all
songs in SC are displayed with the same album title and artist, they can be

A complete library clear & rescan has merged the 2 pieces back together,
but it seems that a scan for "new and changed" music is having problems
determining that these tracks were still part of the same album for
some reason. I've looked at the tags and they all seem fine to me.
