No, sorry, my signature is out of date and confusing. I was doing the

MySQL doesn't work too well - SBS launches the scanner, but doesn't report the
progress of the scan.
SQLite not a good choice for me, as it means
bad luck, doesn't work (posted that in the wrong post btw) - anyway went
back to 7.5 "normal" and works perfectly...

We would certainly want as many users as possible run embedded, as it will help
us improve it. But whether there are too many bugs or not is probably your
call: I've been runnin

There might have been other improvements that have affected the GUI
experience, but this recent change made the artwork snap instead of
appearing one by one... (trying to convey my usage experience).
So it is recommended to switch to the embedded version for the
productive server? Or are there too many bugs left?
I guess I have to switch somewhere in the settings to SQLite to get
this performance boost?

WOW, I'm very happy. I have updated to embedded version 7.5.0 r30159.
Scan time has improved dramatically for a full scan of ~10,000 tracks in
under 10 minutes and a rescan for new music in 10-20 seconds!
This is very comparable with MediaMonkey for a full scan and way faster
for a rescan on th
Using the embedded branch SQIite 8000 tracks takes about a minute to do
a complete scan sequence. Pretty amazing! Everying else is working just
fine, so I am using this version as my production SBS now.

I just updated to latest nightly - 7.5.0 30156 - and something has
improved
Scan new files (7449 of 7449) Complete 00:00:56
Discovering files (1 of 0) Complete 00:00:00
Pre-caching Artwork (605 of 605) Complete 00:00:45
The server has finished scanning your music collection.
What are you compairing? Just to be sure that your times are both taken
with SS and MediaMonkey running on the same PC as I can see that you
have a NAS.
But good question I have not used MediaMonkey for years so I just
gave it a spin. Its initial scan took 5:15 which is the same time as a
The 7.5.0 beta is working very well for me, but I'm interested to
understand why SS (even the embedded version)takes more than 20 minutes
to scan my ~10,000 tracks when MediaMonkey does a complete scan in 35
seconds?
