You mean the message stays there forever? I think I've seen this myself. I've
now opened a bug:

Feel free to add your comments. Thanks!

i didn't file any bugs yet b/c i like to vet them first in the forums.
there seem to be 3 being discussed here:
1. the status window doesn't finish updating a scan
2. scroll bars appear where there shouldn't be any
3. relatedly, the home page doesn't render properly at startup

Ahm... missed this one. Did anybody consider re-opening the old related (or
identical) bug report? Or file a new one? Best way to be sure bugs like this
don't go lost.

funnily enough, i didn't consider this "bitching," i considered it
helpful to report bugs to the developers.
i said it was minor to start, (notice the title of the thread), and
personally i think presentation is important.
your help, which is over my head, is appreciated.

Browser talk aside, and looking at the actual problem of the settings
page. Oh yeah, this might be a slight annoyance, but does it stop you
listening to your music? Is this really worth the bitching?
I've never really been able to make sense of the way the dynamic pages
in SC are built, but look
Another Firefox/Opera user here, but if you're an IE7 fan - have you
tried the 'Avant' (http://www.avantbrowser.com/) frontend? It's a
browser that sits "on top" of IE7 and uses the IE engine but takes up
far less memory and runs a fair amount faster in my experience.

china,
i appreciate the support. here's how i see it:
i gave up on mcafee long ago. i think it sucks. if i were you, i'd
try avast. it keeps me clean, (and i use windows defender and windows
firewall too). i don't know why mcafee doesn't work with slim, but it
probably isn't slims fault. i

And I posted about it years ago.
It's because of the way IE handles rendering and the slow load of SC.

Why? Firefix is a better browser. Period. Thus, your browsing (of SC
and many other sites/apps) will be better with it. Not all things are
equal. The folks at Logit
Sorry, but I don't get this. Use Firefox because SC doesn't work
properly with IE 7? Give me a break. I had the same issue with
McAfee. SC scanner doesn't like it, so downgrade one of the mainstream
virus scanners so that scanner works. Yes, I had to do that to get SC
to work. Yes I've had a
Yup, I've seen that on IE7 too. Michael's aware of it (I posted about
it a while ago); it's on of those IE7 things that's not seen by
everyone, same as the scroll-bars.
And you don't need to use FireFox as another browser. Because my wife's
used to IE7 I still use that for general internet, I've
should i go ahead and file 2 bugs for those two things then? one seems
to be verified to exist, and no one commented on the other.
also...
i figure while i'm at it i might as well post another minor annoyance.
this SS shows what sometimes happens when i call up SC, usually for the
first time i
i thought about that, and i also considered that maybe its the vertical
length of the list itself... but it doesn't seem like something that
-should- happen.

Hi,
maybe because i use the plugin "music information screen" which has a
longer text/description?
I see those scrollbars on the box mentioned by MrSinatra, too - caused
by this long "Command Line Interface (CLI)" entry?
kind regards,
Markus
P.S. I won't change my browser either - using FF3 he
personally, i won't be doing that. one browser is enough for me.
also, i do NOT see it where schiegl does, altho i recall that when SC7
first came out, it seemed to crop up quite a bit all over the place...
but now its only in this one spot for me.
if its an IE7 issue, why only in this spot?
here is another IE7 screenshot showing the same problem (other settings
box). FF3 works fine.
kind regards,
Markus

It's an IE7 fault, I believe - I remember Michael posting about it.
Simple way to fix it is download Firefox3, that's what I did!! You can
use it just for SqueezeCenter and carry on using IE7 for all other web
stuff.

was hoping for my question to get as broad exposure as possible b/c i
don't know if anyone else is seeing these issues or if its just me?

Moving to beta forum, no one will see it in General.
