On my Mac Pro, at best, Blender smoke sim utilizes 6-7 % of my cpu. That's

Hi
You must understand i´s not the cpu-utilisation what counts due openMP produces
lot of overhead.
You may get best results with 2-4 threads !

Hi,
As someone eligible for this I kind of glanced at it a week ago, now that I
actually look at it I think it could be fun.
I've worked a bit on translating Blender to Swedish, and have submitted a
couple of simple patches over the course of the last year. With enough help
from the devs I'm sure
Hi all,
Yeah... we need an update! Campbell suggests to use the release branch.
He will then merge in only crucial fixes in the release, sofar only 4
commits:
41113, 41117, 41128, 41134
Proposal would be to call for next Ahoy this monday though, to allow
us to tackle other unforseen issues

initial support for unicode
Hopefully,
I can't test this well, current trunk should work in linux now in text
fields and editing 3d text - though I think upper case unicode wont
work yet, in the next few days I'll try get this working.

Read Campbells message. It only works on Linux so far!

@Thomas
Sorry for that, my eyes ignored the 'linux' from happyness of supporting UTF in

No problem! :)
I hope it works on windows too soon, so I could use German umlauts.

Erm, Thomas On my windows XP it works (and has worked for long) in
GUI, Textobject and Texteditor.
Cheers,

Well, not for object names for example. (win 7, x64, scons,
WITH_BF_INTERNATIONAL = 1 )
ü, ä, ö are clipped, so for example when I name my objectäxample after
pressing enter it becomes xample. ;-)
Best regards,

Hi Dalai,
First of all I'm sorry for my lack of action, and only now replying.
I updated my system ffmpeg from git some time ago (I guess it's the
0.8.5 version) and Blender can now read the mp4 file(s) correctly.
With the 2.60 release (Linux 64bit downloaded from blender.org) the
problem is

Hi Campbell,
One of those recent commits broke backspace in Font objects.
To test it: (1) add a new Font object (2) remove the text.-- it removes the
1st letter, but to go further you need to keep backspace pressed. (pure
English, no utf8 text input).
confirmed on osx only, not sure about lin +

Also as someone eligible to participate in this, I would love to participate
in code refactoring-type tasks. I've followed blender's development for a
while now (I started building 2.5 from svn when it got merged into trunk),
and I would like an opportunity like this to start working on blender.
It's indeed this commit (#41147). Jens confirmed there as well.
My suspicions lies on the fact that in OSX when we have utf8 we have no
ascii.

For now I think we should keep both.
