UPGRADE OS

Dear All, I am running BIRD 1.4.0 as a route server on Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS Server. I am planning OS upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS server Is there any thing I should consider before doing this upgrade? BIRD 1.4.0 will continue to work in Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS ? Thanks, Regards, Janvier R.
