This morning (8:30 to 9 am) at the northwest end of Corner Marsh, Pickering
I observed 2 IMM (1st or 2nd yr birds) Bald Eagles. I originally saw them in
the trees above and just to the west of a new Wood Duck box that has been
put there. Then they flew down to the water's edge and walked around on
Mar 15 Killdeer, many Grackles,(first on 13th), Redwings Robins. 4 Wigeon
on river forks area.
Mar. 16 Milbert's Tortoiseshell in Dave Martin's yard. ( Second butterfly of
year - A cabbage White was flying in a basement in early Feb). Northern
Shrike at Kilally Meadows. Bald Eagle at Byron bridge

Today there was a pair of Greater White-fronted Geese behind the Pelee Days
Inn (Sturgeon Creek). Located along the Bevel line(Pelee drive). Neither of
these two individuals were the same birds I found near the end of Feb. at
Jack Miners.
Hillman Marsh: Adult Glaucous Gull
Observed ten turkey vultures and two sharp-shinned hawks migrating north
over Richmond Hill on my way to hockey this morning. Also had three
eastern meadowlarks along the King-Vaughan Line west of Bathurst.

Northern pintails, a pair of Ring-necked ducks, Common
mergansers and a Richardson's goose - pond is still
9/10ths covered with an 8 ice plate - cheers - Stan
Coyote Pond lies 1 km east of the 9th Line in Markham on

Today I saw a male Harrier hunting along the north side of Earl Armstrong
Rd, the first I've seen here. Also there were 5 Great Blue Herons on nests
at the Leitrim Wetlands heronry (a heronry of 25 to 35 nests yearly).
This section of Earl Armstrong Rd runs between Limebank Rd and High
