With the lack of rain recently, water levels are slowly dropping
along the Ottawa River. Yesterday, August 20th , I birded Andrew Haydon
Park (east end) and observed 1 juv.. Baird's Sandpiper, 1 ad.
Sanderling, 1 Greater Yellowlegs and a small number of juv..

a) start-up for the CRANBERRY MARSH RAPTOR WATCH 2003 will be Saturday,
Aug.23--I'll be on the platform by 9AM; how long we stay depends upon
weather and whether A short distance from the platform is a
wonderful marsh where birding has been great lately.

Presqu'ile Provincial Park, there has been a steady build-up of new
arrivals, creating a more interesting mix of species than there has been

FALL BIRDING HIKES at Point Pelee National Park (message approved by the
OntBirds co-ordinator):
Every weekend from August 23 to October 26 inclusive (excluding Saturday,
September 6).
Hikes will start on Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and Sundays at
1:30 p.m. only.

At 6:15pm, Thursday, August 21st, 2003, this is the
Hamilton Naturalists' Club Birding Hotline Report. The
Hotline is normally revised on Thursday, unless an
unusual bird turns up in the Hamilton area.
Fall passerine migration is starting to ramp up.
