The past week may well turn out to have been the peak of the fall bird
migration at Presqu'ile Provincial Park, certainly for some species. On
one day, a local birder commented that birding on that day was better
than on any day in the past spring.
On the morning of August 30, a Least Bitte
A Western Sandpiper was found at Owen Point at Presqu'ile this afternoon by
Brenda Carter and Gerard Phillips. A pair of Whimbrel were also seen on the
beach today by various observers. I saw the Western, a generously
proportioned individual, at Owen Point at twilight - it is a different bird

Just a quick report of about 7 nighthawks flying over Exeter feeding
this evening. Exeter is about 30 miles north of London.

Hi Everyone
Yesterday morning, September 1, 2004 I birded along the Ottawa River
from Shirleys Bay to Deschenes Rapids. Highlights included a flock of 4
Great Egrets at the base of the dyke at Shirleys Bay plus one in the
back bay. Shorebird numbers were low but still lots of good habitat. A
