On Saturday at 1:30pm I watched as an immature Golden Eagle circled over High Park's "Hawk Hill" in intermittent heavy rain. When I first arrived there were 2 people standing at the hawkwatch station, by the time I walked up there was nobody around, nothing else of note was seen in the 30 minut

Today, between 1030 and 1130 hours, I observed an immature Sabine's Gull flying between the Engineerium and the brink of Niagara Falls. It was feeding in the company of hundreds of Bonaparte's Gulls and at least two white terns (probably Common but difficult to be sure at the large distance)

Ontbirders, I photographed an adult Thayer's Gull in Markham near Toronto today. The 17 October seems early for Thayer's, but there are records for the end of September in Ottawa. It would be early for Niagara. Thayer's often arrives in southern Ontario before Kumlien's Iceland Gulls. Bruce Ma
