Hi Everyone
Today, October 29, 2005 I observed an adult Greater White-fronted Goose
off Andrew Haydon Park at 8:15am. There were 100's of Canada Geese, 1 Black
Scoter, 1 Long-tailed Duck, 3 Horned & 2 Red-necked Grebe. Also present was
1 first winter Iceland Gull and a 1st winter Lesser Bla

Today I did a long and tiring stroll on the spit and as well as the multitude
of other birds seen I found an adult Lark Sparrow on Pipit Point in the
morning. This bird was well seen and did not flush and fly off but went back to

Well over 100 visitors came to the CMRW platform on Oct.29. Many of them
were richly rewarded, what with the likes of positive identifying of 2 CAVE
SWALLOWS at 0945, and possible single sightings during the day; at 1502

Further to Eleanor's post the two Cave Swallows stayed around until at least
11:15 .. .they did disappear periodically throughout the 2 hour viewing
period [first seen just after 9:15 a.m.]
Hawks were slow but picked up nicely around noon ... a juvenile Golden Eagle
and a gorgeous dark phase Rough
Dear Ontbirders,
I just got a call from Jean Iron to say that there are two Cave Swallows at
Cranberry Marsh. I presume that can be seen from the south lookout where the
hawk watch is in full force.
