[Ontbirds]Sabine's Gull at Van Wagners Beach

I had a nice start to the fall pelagic season at the west end of Lake Ontario today. Shortly after noon, I had a juvenile Sabine's Gull off Van Wagners Beach. The bird landed on the water a fair distance out and was not re-seen during the short time I was there. The winds are brisk out of the NE

[Ontbirds]Marbled Godwit at Holland Landing

A couple of pleasant hours at the Holland Landing lagoons this morning Aug. 24 were highlighted by a Marbled Godwit in adult non-breeding plumage. I last saw the bird flying from lagoon 2 to lagoon 4 as I was leaving at 12 noon, although it had spent most of the preceding two hours in lagoon 1.
