At about 2pm today, Eve Ticknor and I saw about 74 Sandhill cranes.
I even got a few photos:

Image quality is so-so; they were far, and the sky was quite grey.

Hello Fellow Birders,
The last couple of days have been excellent for bird watching even though the
November chills were a stark reality.
On Saturday as I bicycled my way from Newcastle to Port Hope I sighted 74 Red
Tailed Hawks gliding and flapping overhead & 4 Red Shouldered Hawks. I did

Pittock Lake this morning [Nov 13].
This species is not annual in Oxford County and most records are of ones and
twos, so this record is quite noteworthy.
There were also 5 Cackling Geese seen in same area, on Nov 12, am
Hello Ontbirders
A nice movement of loons appears to be passing through Ottawa.
This morning, at 7:45am, observing from Dick Bell Park, there was a
tight flock of about 35 Red-throated Loons on Lac Deschenes.
At about 8:35am, the flock flew south over Graham Bay.
While the birds were in the air
