Snowy Owl at the southern end of the causeway (Highway 59) which crosses the

This morning, in the open agricultural fields immediately south of Hwy
417, east of Casselman, there were more than 18,000 Greater Snow Geese.
Shortly after dawn, they flew from the southeast, coming down to form
several large flocks in the fields between intersections with

Hello Fellow Birders,
I had the privilege of sighting the AVOCET at 4 o'clock in the Cranberry
Marsh. I was able to see him/her from the southern platform. Something
stirred him/her up and zigzagged around a couple of time and flew off
towards the north east.

At 9:30a.m. today I observed a CAVE SWALLOW, which is quite likely the same
individual I saw on the 10th, around the lighthouse area of Prince Edward
Point. It was first seen about 300 metres west of the lighthouse along the

Several birders saw the American Avocet this (Monday) morning where
Duffins Creek empties into Lake Ontario at Rotary Park in Ajax. From
401 take Westney Road south past Bayly Street and turn right on Lake
Driveway to Rotary Park. Take foot bridge that crosses Duffins Creeks

I ran into a couple on Friday afternoon at Cranberry Marsh who
told me they saw an Avocet on the mudflats at the mouth of
Cruthers Creek on the end of Lakeridge Rd. on Wednesday
afternoon. Their names were Sheila King And Gerry C.

Hi Everyone
Yesterday, November 16th, birded Presqu'ile P.P. for the day. Overall, cold and
windy but we did managed to see 1 Purple Sandpiper in a flock of 18 Dunlin and
7 Sanderling on Gull Island. The bird was very tame. There was a juvenile Snowy
Owl present on Sebastopol Island. Late linger
