Hi birders,
Came across a pair of ravens today.One that stayed on the nest for at least a
few hours while the mate was in an elm tree a few hundred ft. away.Only when we
got out of the vehicle to scope the nest did they leave and waited in the
elm.They were not very vocal nor did they seem very

This morning, shortly after 11:00 AM a group of us from the Pembroke Field
Naturalists Club
found the white Gyrfalcon perched on top of a tall tree on the southwest
end of Garden Island, the small island visible on the west or right as the ferry
approaches Wolfe Island. Another group

Lots of activity in the area, both winter birds and a few spring migrants.
Today birded various areas around Ottawa and noted a few Red-winged Blackbirds
back on territory at Britannia along with a few Common Grackle and American
Robin in the area. Near the corner of Barnsdale Road a
I was happy to see a (recently arrived ?) group of 12 American Robins on a
muddy area beside the Avon River in Stratford today. Yesterday there was a
single Common Grackle and on Sunday a single Killdeer along the river.
Stratford still hosts some winter species as both Pine Siskins and Common
Ontario
