Greetings: The Osprey have returned to the Wetland. Hopefully, they will

For those interested, my wife and I observed Fox Sparrow, for the third year
in a row, on the Green Ribbon Trail in St. Catharines this afternoon (4/05)
at 3:30 PM.
We observed 1 Fox Sparrow on the trail, north of the pedestrian bridge.

The Ross's Goose discovered on 03 April along Eagleson Rd. near Richmond, ON
has been subsequently seen by several observers - on the 4th along Barnsdale
Rd. between Twin Elm and Eagleson Rd., and on the 5th along Brownlee Rd. west
of Eagleson Rd. and then in the flooded
A white phase Gyrfalcon has been seen along the south shore of Amherst
Island both yesterday and today. It could be the same bird that was on Wolfe
Island earlier this year but that bird hasn't been reported since March
14th. Amherst Island is reached by ferry from the village of Millhaven west

A good but cool morning watching the busy nesting activities at the GBH Rookery
on Leslie, its hard to get a good count with all the activity, but easily 2
dozen nesting Great Blue Herons as estimated by myself and another fellow
birder who I spent an enjoyable morning with. Down on Major

While driving thru the L.S. Parkway we watched 21 snow geese heading north
quite high @ 6:45p.m. to-nite.There were also 2 bald eagles on the ice on the
north side of Philpott Island which we were looking at just then.Lots of
regular water-fowl and a nice Sharp-shined hawk on
Beamer Conservation Area
