A Spotted Towhee has been hanging around our backyard all day. He is in the
company of a Brown Thrasher, lots of WT Sparrows, RC Kinglets, a winter
wren, several warbler species, Swainsons and hermit Thrush, etc.
Too bad I had to work on Income tax all day!

Today I birded several parks and other natural areas along or near
Lake Ontario starting at Paletta Park, Burlington east to Rattray
Marsh Conservation area: in between I birded Shell Park, sw Oakville;
Gairloch Garden, Oakville, Arkendo Park, se Oakville, and Lakeside
Park sw Mississauga.
We set a new record for the April Toronto Ornithological Club outing with 103
species today. The trees were dripping with birds everywhere.
There were 10 warbler species including 3 female Cape May and enormous numbers
of Yellow-rumps, 12 sparrows and 15 kinds of duck. Other good finds included
Posting for Dave Okines whose reply to his post failed.
Correct the bird seen was a Lark Sparrow not a Lark Bunting. The report

a Lark Bunting was seen and photographed near the first cottage on
the far side of the harbour early yesterday afternoon. It was seen for
about two hours but it then dissappeared and was not seen again, it has been
looked for today several times but it could not be relocated.
A small group of Yellow, Nashville and Yellow-rumped Warblers were seen
early Sunday afternoon at the Cobourg water treatment plant on Lake Ontario.

The OFNC hosted an outing focusing on migrants from Britannia Conservation Area
to Constance Bay, led by Jeff Skevington. Britannia was fairly active with
multitudes of YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, vocal RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS, TREE, BARN,
and NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS skimming the surface of M
I saw a single Chimney Swift flying over Lake Victoria in central Stratford
this afternoon. It seems a very early arrival. There were several Tree
Swallows as well.
Other species seen in the last few days in the Lake Victoria area include
Hermit Thrush, Barn Swallow, Pine and Yellow-rum

We've enjoyed another lovely day here at Point Pelee and there continues to
be good bird activity in the park.
This morning, 4 species of vireo were noted at the Tip (White-eyed,
Blue-headed, Warbling and Red-eyed). A very early male Blackpoll Warbler
was also seen by many observe
At Reesor Pond and typical of this last week, is today's movement of
white-winged gulls with two 1st winter Iceland, one 1st first winter Thayers,
one adult Glaucous and one 1st winter Great-blacked gulls - the Blue-morph Snow
Goose continues to show up daily. Reesor Pond lies just north of Hwy
A snowy owl has been spending at least the weekend along Highway 26 west of
Meaford. The bird can be seen about 200 metres west of the intersection of
Highway 26 and Grey Road 112. It has mostly been sitting on fenceposts
immediately adjacent to the highway. but periodically flies further back t

The adult male Barrow's Goldeneye found by Bill Crins at the Lakefield
sewage lagoons yesterday was on the nearby Otonabee River this morning,
Sunday April 26. It was with a group of Common Goldeneye close to the west

Thursday but yesterday made up for the cool weather with a hint of Summer.

photographed, a Woodcock (usually they just fly away). This was in the area
