This is a Chimney Swift update for London, Ontario.
Although I have not been selected to take part in this year's swift watch, I
have still been monitoring swifts on a daily basis, as I do with all birds.
My general observations, overall, tell me that swift numbers in the city may be
down. My
Took a drive from Kingston this evening after work and managed to see the
Duck. Interesting bird indeed, very quiet with only two other birders at
the site. Stayed for about 15 nminutes and managed a pic. See link.

The chief attraction for birders visiting Presqu'ile Provincial Park at
this time of year, apart from its wealth and variety of breeding birds,
is the possibility of finding returning shorebirds, of which the
vanguard has already arrived.
There is still a good variety of ducks around Gull Isla
Bird present on berm between 2 ponds at 8:30 pm south of Milford.

Just got to the spot at 9:30 am and the duck is still here. It is somewhat
concerned about people approaching th fence so please take care if approaching.

The Chuck-will's-widow started singing at 9:13 p.m. and stopped at 9:19.
Started again at 9:27. At 9:33 two Whip-poor-wills joined in. I left at 9:36
as the mosquitoes were very bad. A bug jacket is recommended. With the waxing
moon it could sing more often. It starts singing from the same spot
