Hello Birders, On Monday, November 8 Ross Wood found a Hooded Oriole at a remote location on Long Point. The bird was observed for a couple of hours by four other lucky observers and has not been refound since. It appears to be a second-year male, possibly of the western subspecies group

Some may know this already. Sunday morning, November 7, 2010, Reta Hall passed away at the Mindemoya Hospital. Reta, along with her husband, Steve Hall, and the Friends of Misery Bay, hosted groups and individuals to the Sharp-tailed Grouse lek on Manitoulin Island at the Gore Bay Airport.

Birders, Three adult male Barrow's Goldeneye were present at the bottom end of the rapids at Strathcona Park at 4:30 pm this evening. Also present were roughly 40 Common Goldeneye. I have yet to tease out a female Barrow's at this location this fall. Good birding. Evan Directions
