Hi all:
Not a big deal, except maybe for me: A dozen Common Redpolls, first of the
winter at this location, stopped by briefly at Bathurst and Eglinton this
morning, just in time for the Great Backyard Bird Count . . . They headed
south, so Cedarvale Ravine might be the place to catch up with
Birders about ten minutes ago while driving on the 401 a female Long tailed
Duck nearly hit us and several other cars as it tried landing on the west bound
lanes just west of exit 312. We assume it was confused with the slick looking
ashphalt. Quite bizarre!

I have a leucistic Common redpoll among my 150 redpolls. His ear patch is
completely white from just in front of his eye down.

Located this odd winter species on 18 Feb 2011 in Kingston Ontario at
Lemoine Point. Very shy bird and difficult to locate. I only found it due to
its call. See link for pic.
