Mike and I did a pretty good tour of south-western Ontario today, looking for
shorebirds and whatever else. Our first stop was at Mitchell, first thing this

Hi all! - I saw this trio about 12:30 pm today in the 2nd. cell at the 5th.
bubbling treatment outlet north of the pumphouse. Nice and close and they all
looked like juvenile birds. I did not spend much time looking for anything else
as I was running errands for expected company later but did
20.08.11 - 3.30pm at Reesor Pond : 1 juvenile Ruddy Turnstone - dark
legs - thought it might be a Black [some hope] but it showed bright orange
soles - 1 Stilt Sandpiper showed up yesterday - 1 Pectoral last week and
there are the usual Lesser and Greater Yellowlegs - Reeosr Pond lies just
north
Hello all,
Today between 11:00 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Hannah Maciver and I observed six
(6) American Golden Plovers at the above-mentioned wetland. All appeared to
be molting adults. Also present were four Black-bellied Plovers
facilitating a direct comparison.

At 9 am this morning Saturday Aug 20 2011 a Red-Necked Phalarope was
present at the Tilbury Lagoons.It was in the smaller pond just to the
west of the large main pond.Park the car at the end of the main entrance
and walk straight back.There are several species of shorebirds there
including a
Conditions remain fantastic at the Tilbury lagoons. I checked them out today
with Matt birarda. We ran into Ken and Mike Burrell and between the four of us
had the following:
3 ad. Long-billed Dowitcher
1 juv. Red-necked Phalarope
3 juv. Stilt sandpiper
2 juv. Baird's sandpiper
Altogether there
